Dr William Wright, CBE
Dr Wright was one of the original founders of his family owned company Robert Wright and Sons (Coachworks) Limited.

During Dr Wright’s management reign the company grew into the provinces leading commercial body builder.  He was key to the company’s change in strategic direction, from Northern Ireland focused commercial bodybuilding into one of the UK’s leading bus manufacturers.

Dr Wright currently uses his entrepreneurial skills to advise the company on its future development strategies.  He continues to work closely with Key Bus Operations within Great Britain and Northern Ireland and also many legislative bodies, helping them to identify future transport requirements.

Mr Mark Nodder
Managing Director,  The Wright Group


Mark Nodder is Group Managing Director for The Wrights Group of companies, which includes Wrightbus Ltd., Wright Customcare Ltd., Wright Composites Ltd., and Metallix Ltd subsidiaries. 

Mark has held this position since December 2006, prior to which he was progressively responsible for the Customcare aftersales subsidiary. UK and international sales and Strategic Development.

Mark is a lawyer by training and before joining the bus industry in 1998 worked for the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defence and Bombardier.

Outside Wrightbus Mark is current President of Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and a member of the advisory group to the Northern Ireland Economy Minister.

Dr Lorraine Rock
Global Logistics Director
With the future focus of the business becoming more global and the necessary requirements for systematic continuous improvement throughout the group to facilitate this, in February 2012 Lorraine moved to become Group Strategic Change Director.
Lorraine joined The Wright Group in 2002 to develop the Supply Chain function of the company as Materials Director.  This included the development of procedures and policies for stock control and purchasing and the full implementation of a bespoke MRP system to improve supplier delivery.
In December 2006, she moved to the position of Managing Director – Wrightbus Ltd with full control over all the operations within the Wrightbus organisation.  During this time Lorraine also completed a Diploma in Business Improvement.
Lorraine is a Pharmacist by training.  After qualifying from Queen’s University Belfast, she initially worked in Altnagelvin Hospital before moving to a Quality Assurance Pharmacist position in Belfast City Hospital.  In 1991 Lorraine moved to the Northern Health and Social Services Board to take up the position of Purchasing / QA Pharmacist, before eventually being appointed as Principal Pharmacist (Clinical services) for Homefirst Trust in 1998.

Amanda (Mandy) Knowles
Welfare & HR Director
The Wright Group is a caring organisation and Mandy has been instrumental in the progression and development of the Welfare function.  She believes it is important that employees know there is a group they can turn to for advice both in social and working demands.
Mandy joined Robert Wright & Sons (Coachworks) Ltd in September 1977, having gained valuable experience with the Department of the Environment (Roads Service).

She commenced her career with Wrights in the Finance Department and then managed the Sales Administration Department.  During this time Mandy was instrumental in forming the foundations for the current Sales and Marketing system.

From here Mandy then moved to manage the Human Resources function for Wrightbus Ltd and was appointed to the position of Group HR & Welfare Director in 1995.  Mandy is passionate about her role within the Group and believes it is vitally important that the right people with the right skills are available to do the job required at the right time.  She supports the Wright Group commitment to the provision of training, and this is evident through the achievement and retention of IiP.
